In the process industry, the reliability of couplings is important. The BIPEX® stands out with its unique cam ring design. The special arrangement of the load flanks on the cam ensures stable support of the elastomer elements in use. Compared to market-standard couplings, which often provide a maximum torque of only twice the nominal coupling torque, the BIPEX® offers increased maximum torques and an extended bore range, providing increased flexibility and safety, especially during the startup of an asynchronous motor

Benefits and Application

BIPEX couplings transmit torque form-closed and are thereby fail-safe. The specially designed cast cams prevent the generation of reaction forces, thus avoiding wear-inducing movements between the cast and rubber cams. The cam ring is mounted with low backlash, resulting in progressive torsional stiffness, meaning that the torsional stiffness increases with higher torque. The good damping capability absorbs torque peaks and positively influences the torsional vibration behaviour of the drive. Both the cam ring and the ready-to-install hub parts are available from stock.
